In addition to the sales of systems, components and peripherals, CE Engineering offers a range of third party services for HPE NonStop (Tandem) users including:

Contract Hardware Support

For those customers who prefer or are statutorily required to have the assurance of contracted service levels and response times, we offer the option of two service plans:

Full Service Hardware Maintenance - For customers who would like or need assistance with on-site maintenance, this plan includes on-site preventative maintenance, emergency on-site problem rectification and all replacement parts inclusive within the cost of the service.

Remote Co-operative Hardware Maintenance - For customers who have technically competent staff or a local third-party maintenance company who CE Engineering can train to act as first line support for your HPE NonStop (Tandem) systems. With on-site hot spares, this service option reduces any downtime as you do not have to wait for a travelling customer engineer to visit site or for spares to be delivered. All replacement parts and second level technical support from CE Engineering are included in the cost of the service.

Ad-Hoc Hardware Support

CE Engineering also provides hardware support for customers who do not need the assurance of contracted support.

Ad-hoc Hardware Maintenance - Hardware support and repairs without monthly support charges.
Hardware Maintenance Training - CE Engineering can train your staff or preferred contractor to maintain HPE NS X-Series, NS-Series, S-Series or K-Series systems.

Installation, De-installation, Moves and Upgrades

We offer a professional installation/de-installation service with service level guarantees and an economical price. System moves and upgrades, including project management where required, can be carried out at a time to suit your production schedule, with 'swing kit' supplied as an option.

HPE NonStop Spares / Repairs

CE Engineering offers a replacement spares service on Tandem Computers K-Series Systems, Compaq/HP S-Series ServerNet Systems, HPE NonStop NS-Servers/NB Servers (HPE NonStop Integrity systems) and HPE NonStop X-Series (HPE NonStop Intel Xeon systems). We supply tested spares often with next-day delivery and even same-day delivery where the requirement is mission critical.

Repairs can be carried out on most peripheral equipment with advance replacement spares if required.

Disaster Recovery

Every business could experience a serious incident that can prevent it from continuing normal operations. This could be flood, fire, infrastructure failure or a security incident. CE Engineering can provide Disaster Recovery solutions tailored to your requirements from a fully managed mirror system based at our facility to a cold standby system in storage ready for deployment.

Media Transfer

CE Engineering stocks pretty much all of the tape drives ever attached to HPE NonStop (Tandem) systems. This gives us the ability to read from any Tandem format media created by customers and write to any other Tandem media format (or transfer to disk).

The model of media transfer and media data recovery as a service came from a customer request following the replacement of their S-Series system and the inability to connect legacy tape drives to the new platform.

HP NonStop Software Support

CE Engineering can facilitate the supply of Operating System software/licenses and application software. We do not however provide software pre-sales or consultancy directly. If you have a specific requirement contact us to see if we can compete on price, but if you require more than just pricing, our alliance partners provide a range of software services including fully managed solutions.

Software support services for HPE NonStop (Tandem) user include:

Data Sanitisation and Disk / Media Destruction

CE Engineering's normal operational procedures include the wiping of data from disks (using the government approved triple pass method) and removal of any identifying labels before equipment is stocked for use as spares, resold or scrapped. Used tape media is always physically destroyed. Where requested, a certificate of data destruction is issued for compliance with statutorial requirement.

An enhanced destruction option is available to customers disposing of equipment where disks and/or tape media are first wiped, then physically disabled, and then securely transported to a specialist for mechanical granulation (ground to 5mm pieces).
